Before I had children it never occurred to me that some people are more suited to certain parts of parenting than others. In fact for a long time, I just felt like I was shit at it. As my kids have grown older I have come to realise that actually, I’m just not temperamentally suited […]
Parenting Life and Humour
Parenthood came as a massive shock to me. Frankly, it still throws me plenty of curve balls even ten years in. While I’ve found things easier as my children have grown older, motherhood still isn’t my vocation. I have coped with much of parenting by trying to see the funny side and the posts I’ve written about that are in the parenting humour section, hopefully they’ll give you some light relief.

I am a rubbish liar. I’m crap at keeping track of what’s been said to who and I hate keeping secrets. Father Christmas may be a “white lie” but that doesn’t make the lie any easier for me to manage. I minimise how much I have to lie. There’s no elf on my shelf. The […]
I regularly bang on to anyone who’ll listen about how much better I like my kids now that they are older. The baby and toddler years were tough for me and the preschool ones not much better. I have enjoyed parenting much more since they started school (funny that!) I thought it would be interesting […]
