Bloggers Behind the Screens is a monthly interview series, where fellow bloggers come together to answer a series of questions on a specific theme. This is a chance to get acquainted with a whole range of bloggers, some of whom you may not have encountered before, and learn a little more about them!
This month, we’re talking to bloggers about the very thing that makes them bloggers. Their blogs.
I started blogging in 2011 just after the birth of my daughter to document parenting and our journey as a new family as well as testing and reviewing baby products I bought.
As it was mainly me talking about my thoughts, it kind of felt like a natural name… What Mummy Thinks.
I now blog about lifestyle and home more than parenting and kids purely because I don’t feel like I have as much to say now the kids are getting older.
It started 100% as a hobby but now is acting as a bit of side hustle.
I’ve been offered so many wonderful products and experiences from the blog but I think our best experience was a long weekend break as it gave us some fantastic time together without the distractions of devices.
My children and family. I will never get tired of writing about them,
The art of negotiation! I’ve never been very good at asking for what I want. Now I feel confident enough to ask for what I want and negotiate if it’s not quite right for both parties.
I think sometimes the honest posts are my favourite because they are real and raw and relatable. This is one of my favourites for all those reasons. https://www.whatmummythinks.co.uk/my-thoughts/why-i-dont-cherish-every-second-with-my-children/
I think I’m too self-conscious for TV or radio – I don’t think I’d be any good.
It has to be the tax returns!
To blog for passion and not just for money – the money may come later on but start out blogging about things you love.
I do have a home office but if I’m honest, I’d much rather sit on the sofa and enjoy a lovely cuppa too.
12. It’s actually unlikely that any will make it to see daylight but sometimes I just find it cathartic writing.
I’m totally winging it but I’m also just about to start a new blog and eventually move away from What Mummy Thinks altogether.
The fantastic blogging community. They are so wonderful and helpful and I feel I can ask as many daft questions as I need to!
